Antony Thomas, PhD, BCBA-D, is a registered Clinical Psychologist in New Zealand and a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst-Doctoral in the United States of America.
Dr Thomas has extensive clinical experience working with clients/students and their families in New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, India, and the USA. In the clinical area, he worked as an Autism Consultant and Lead ABA Therapist in the USA for 9 years and as a Clinical Psychologist for the New Zealand Ministry of Education, Special Education for 10+ years.
He worked as a university lecturer in India and the USA (University of Hawaii).
Dr Thomas has developed seminars, workshops, and short courses in the area of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), Asperger’s syndrome, Evidence-based strategies, Cognitive fitness and Critical thinking, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Functional Behaviour Assessment, Basics of Emotional Intelligence and Enhancing Emotional intelligence – a way to improve relationships at work.
He has offered these seminars/professional development workshops for the University of Waikato, (Tauranga & Hamilton), New Zealand Ministry of Education, Special Education (Hamilton), Bay of Plenty District Health Board (Rotorua), Sri Ramachandra University (Chennai, India) and Help University College (Malaysia).
He has been involved in community support and empowerment activities and he is the founder of “Aspergers Connections.Hamilton” & “Aspergers Connections.Tauranga” (Community/Parent support groups) in New Zealand.
